Not to deflate the love bubble here, but this sort of thing is pretty standard for cheap peripherals. It cost them more to ship broken crap around that almost definitely can't be repaired and to put technicians on it.

It's actually not uncommon for printer companies to just give up after 20-30 minutes of troubleshooting on cheapo printers and just send a new one, but the cost of their employees is much more than what it cost to make a plastic cheapo printer.
Its a $50 mouse, they are sending me the entire thing, mouse + transceiver. (thus the 2 week wait for the Black Color).

Wouldn't call $50 cheap. They could have just sent me the transceiver or made me send in the old part and wait for a new one.

$25 to buy: HP® Official Store — Buy an Microsoft Arc Mouse (NR150AA) from HP

Which mean it costs MS maybe $5 to make and package. Employees cost a company about 2x what their hourly rate is. It's not worth their time. Tons of companies do this. I'm not saying MS isn't a good company, because their peripherals are probably their best products, but I'd be shocked if they wanted you to send it in.

My £30 Multimedia Keyboard has a HUGH crack right down the middle of its outer casing, My own fault by getting too carried away whilst playing Trackmania. The thing is, even though the outside has broke it still works perfect lol!

I've dropped it off my desk, spilt lager all over it and it just keeps going. It's about 6 year old now and I'll deffinetly buy a new one when it does die.

Hats off to MS for solid hardware. (sort of!) :)

Lol Generator, Jw its a sale, sort of. I see instant rebates everywhere, Bestbuy sells it for $50, Walmart sells it for $50, HP probably gets it for cheaper for advertising them.

Now this is suppose to be a JOYFUL thread, leave the joyness alone please :)

hah, I will take my misery elsewhere. It's just on this forum, people get a little too in love with a giant corporation who would suck your life force out of you to make a buck. (Let's not forget that MS is a convicted abuser of their monopoly, they aren't exactly the consumer's best bud)

    It's all business.

That's cruel thing when you are without a mouse. I can't use the touchpad for extensive use. I need my MS Presenter.
