This confounds me. Requesting insight?
Well, while I was in computer science class sometime last week, as I was logging in, the login sequence froze up. So, like an unappreciative idiot, I shut the computer down with the power button and restarted it. After loading, I logged back in, and all of the normal restrictions on the computer (eg. disabled task manager, right click, control panel, etc) were removed. I was (still am) basically the computer admin. None of my account files were in the documents. My settings were gone, and Visual Basic/JCreater did not work.
It's only isolated to my account on that computer; any other accounts that log in with have restrictions, any other computers I log into are restricted as well.
I am still in the process of trying to figure out how this happened and how I'd go about fixing it. (note: comp sci teacher and IT both notified; they challenged me to try to fix it, seeing as how the effect is isolated)
Anyone have any ideas as to how this happened? (computers are running XP by the way, accounts are on a server)
