Dwarf,
You have been a busy elf.
Could have used the XP one for my sons infected computer.
Spent 10 hours doing deep scans with MBAM and SAS to clean up his mess.

what did you use for the xp usb installer?

i've successfully used novicorp wintoflash in the past.

i wonder if there's a better alternative, as that results in an odd two-stage xp install process.

Thanks guys.. I'm really happy about my grades..

Dennis.. report about the new girl friend:

I'm letting her have her own space.. last time we talked was last sunday.. i'm thinking about writing her this sunday, to give her a little time to see if she shows a little interest (i don't know if she's playing "Hard to get", who knows?) if she doesn't write, i will.. as i said before, i don't like those games, i like things "clean & clear" but you know how girls these days are...

They say "men sucks, because one time one guy did this and this and this to me", so.. because of one a**hole, the good ones (i include myself in here haha) have to deal with this too..

As someone really smart said once:

"Nice guys always finish last"

MM,
I followed these instructions which I printed out and taped them to the bottom of '
their computer. Hope they can read as this is my last go at it.

I know. I like to keep busy.

Creating an XP USB installation drive can be tricky, but I've managed to locate a method that works. I've not actually installed it yet as I need to perform a bit of surgery on my machine (plugging the HDD that I'll be using for XP into a different SATA socket).

I haven't actually completed this task yet, it is still a work in progress.

I used WinSetupFromUSB 0-2-2, which is quite easy to use and does pretty much everything that is required to create a bootable XP USB drive, although you still need to prepare the drive by following METHOD TWO steps 1 - 16 here: USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create

Note that the same restrictions will apply as with a standard XP installation disk in that supplementary drivers that may be required during setup will still need to be provided on a floppy disk.

Download WinSetupFromUSB 0-2-2.exe

thanks dwarf, reading the instructions here, that seems to result in the same thing (2 step xp install) as the novicorp software that i mentioned above.
