ranks

John uses the MVP badge as a sign of recognition to those few who have it... As far as I know that is the only one he uses as a special rank badge...

Notice the way that continued dedication to advancement through the ranks is cunningly - even subliminally - encouraged by use of revolting shades of pink for the "power user" and "pro" badges. Those who attain "guru" are motivated mostly by the desire to salvage a bit of dignity.
