This day belongs to my wife. I can still not understand why I promised this, but I am going to spend whole day at the biggest mall this side Germany, shopping with her. Must be I was too drunk to understand what I promised?!?
it happens to guys all the time...

Is there any greater source of enjoyment for us men than to go marathon shopping with our beloved wives? To have this opportunity to speak with her and not always "talk" only to the computer. To use words and language you normally wouldn`t use: "Yes dear, that suits you just fine. No dear, of course you are not fat. That´s true; she looks really ugly in that dress, it would be a lot nicer on you. Of course I can drive, I don´t like to have a couple of beers with lunch."
while i do not have a wife i do know what you mean...

Seriously, I am still very much in love. I just hate these shopping sprees!

    Kari over and out.
im pretty sure if there had something to do with electronics it would be the other way around....
at least that's how it goes with me...

Well...Today I have attempted to build the tiny-est version of Windows 7 using DISM and vLite...It looks like I have succeeded. Build target was Windows 7 Ultimate RTM x64...Final ISO size is 1.23GB(I am not kidding here...will be lower when I clean all but three files out of the soucres fiolder out). Not sure of the installation size yet...Once I get a lite build I feel is up to my quality than I will share it with the world...

BTW I made myself quite the little handy batch file that takes an .xls list of packages to remove from Windows 7...it integrates drivers from a folder specified...integrates languages into Windows and Windows Setup...and performs clean-up. Once I feel it is up to quality than I will release it.

Here is the batch file in a .txt for anyone interested in the work done...I wouldn't bother running it yet due to the lack of Official files from Microsoft that I will add checksums to eventually...(imagex is an example here)
nice batch file although you tore most of the meaty stuff out....
i have been looking at it and modifing it to prompt you first if you want it unnattended (with the prerecorded variables) or you want to be asked where is what....
it would actually be best if it came as a pack (you know as a zip with all the files [such as imagex and such so that you can hardcode your variable path and not care where it is located so that it would work in many more working enviroments...
(but im sure you know that...)
but in any case +1 on the remarks/comments which say which is which and what is what..

It is far from complete as you say...I hadn't got to making it be able to specify directory listings or what not. I could repack it into a zip right now and it would be a usable program except I think it is against the rules to include the executable for imagex out of the WAIK (may be wrong here)...Anyhow the editing is appreciated and I hope to get it fully fledged by this weekend...

I would make it into an app but TBH I have never did that before myself...would make things really nice

Here is the whole package thus far...If this isn't the place for it than MODS you can get rid of it

    PLEASE NOTE!
You need source files of 7600.16385 (RTM) and have them in the places where the bat says so (just for now...). Also I am uploading this as a test release...in no way is this finished and likely there is still bugs on the loose

Chris, I'm liking this. Put this on a Vertex in my Mini 10 and it might just run like a real laptop....lol
    Keep up the good work!

It`s half past midnight here. Wife`s sleeping, my new addiction brought me from bed to my study to check SevenForums as soon as I noticed she`s asleep.

Like so often before the full day out, shopping and having nice time together, the day left me a nice and warm glow. It`s ironic how I always fear a shopping day with my wife but how good I always feel after it. It has of course something to do with my wifes sensitivity, she´s learned to shop quite moderately when she`s with me. And today we found a store where they have a waiting lounge for men, next to the fitting rooms so we men could see and comment what the women were trying and go back to our activities. There is a XBox, two internet terminals, TV showing Eurosport (it`s a bit like ESPN there other side big water) and an espresso machine. I think I might even found a future customer there today.

Tomorrow I think I`ll go back to the mall, I saw today a new Sony HDD / DVD recorder which I think I want.

    Kari

P.S. This Chillout Room, especially this thread makes my SevenForums experience complete. I would like to thanks all and everybody in the team for having had enough patience and expertise to give us The Ultimate Forum.

    Thank you.

I bought an "open box" BioStar nVidia GF 9400GT 512 for my nephew. $40. The box was labeled "Tested Good." The box was sealed. Upon opening, it was missing a screw that held the backplane on. Won't post video. Bad out of the box. I need to reset BIOS to get onboard video back on.

Today, I learned to never post a link to MicroCenter. Their bench techs are inane. At least, one of them is.

It's all good, it's all wood. I came home to find myself some kind of guru. Is that badge rescindable for purchasing open box hardware?
