Have you given them advanced warning?

Good luck with the move, and I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

My beautiful wife just caught me lurking here. She asked me if she should make lunch or would I prefer to eat the keyboard.

I am definitely a bad influence on her.

So, I just got confirmed as a host for one of the Windows 7 launch parties!

Anyone good with party planning? I could use some pointers.

Congratulations, and don't invite anybody with a Mac in their name.

Raffle the netbook. $30 per ticket.
That'd be nice, but I'm a college student and a RA (Resident Assistant). Where I'm holding the party, and who I'm holding it for if I did that, they wouldn't let me hold the party. Neither is there drinking involved (dry campus).

Me too, got confirmation today. It is funny: two months ago I got this idea of organizing a party to celebrate Windows 7 launch. I started this thread here on SevenForums asking your opinion. The response was lame, the idea was mostly considered as naive and impossible. At this moment the thread has been read no more than about 1000 times, last response over six weeks ago. 16 people said they would come. Not so good statistics.

But then Microsoft decides to launch these parties, and suddenly everybody is thinking "What a great idea! I want to be there!" Several threads telling how wonderful idea it is appears overnight here on SevenForums.

    Funny. Really funny.

So, like I said I'm organizing an official Windows 7 Launch Party on Sunday, October 25th in the beautiful village of Gräfrath, in city of Solingen in Germany. Düsseldorf Airport is less than 30 minutes away. If you are interested in an international Windows 7 Launch Party, please contact me.

Great ideas, now I just need to get the netbook.

It's actually raffled off between the about 10,000 parties world wide (I'm pulling that number out of thin air) and there's only 65 of them, hopefully I'm lucky enough to get one.
