All of these networking sites including SF are always about how you use them. If it's not for you then fine but don't rag on them just because you can't see the value. This is a odd human trait that I'm not comfortable with, the you have to be in total agreement with me and do as I do or your'e idea's are shite' thing! This is what is so whack with our political systems, please live with an open mind to others opinions and it's fine to disagree but it shouldn't devalue the other person. IMHO !

Well said.

Nobody is saying Facebook isn't without its flaws, but many people find a good use, and sensibly use it.

Facebook,mobile phones,twitter.
It seems that the peoples of the world have never had so much to say about absolutely nothing.

One could say people have never really had the chance before - the desire has always been there, but now it's simply cheaper and more convenient to do so.

I use Facebook as I live so far from my family and a lot of my friends. It is a great way to keep in contact Sure it has its flaws but then again so does the entire internet, nothing is 100% safe. I am just careful who I accept as friends and what I generally click on. I cannot account for the rest of the users but as of yet I have only received spam/viral links which are to be honest relatively easy to spot and I can easily avoid clicking on them. I also believe that my PC is as secure as I can make it, only time will tell here lol.
Short story is to be carefull within FB just like the rest of the internet.

i've recently joined facebook just so i can get a bit more space in my dropbox.

somehow i got an email from them saying that i may know john williams (amongst others), and since then i've got a lot of friendship requests from other seven forumites - thank you.

i've also had friendship requests from 'randoms' who i may or may not know.

i hope nobody gets offended or takes it the wrong way if i don't do much facebooking or if i seem to ignore them - i'm still really unsure as to what fb is about.

I wouldn't worry about it mickey, I don't use it that much. Probably log on each day just to look what some of my friends and family are up to, but it can be several days sometimes before I'll post anything or reply to someone.

There's still lots of people who they suggest as friends for me that I don't follow up on probably some who are more friends with my family or friends rather than my friends.

It seems to be down at present though as I can't get in, got to go now anyway to prepare veg and other things so try later after our meal.
