    setting ujp wordpress blog

I have been wanting to setup a genealogy blog on my website. I found that my ISP has wordpress available on my site. I had \to download the latest version of the software, installed it on my site, created the database usin mySQL and did what was directed for the PHP. I have it it temporarly setup on my site the URL is: ** REMOVED ** I put in a simple genealogy question blog on it and it shows up as a blog. HOWEVER I want to change how the page looks, different theme, itc. I use my username and password to log into the site so i can make changes add catigories of blogs up load blogs from other people with their permission, but cannot find a way to do any of these things, Tech support for my questions does not exist, I have searched for places on the web for answeres, have not found any.

Does anyone in this community know anything about WordPress or should I delete it and try another one. I realy do not plan to add my blogs even though it is my blog I want to display good genealogy blogs that do exist, some require payment most are free along with videows and talk shows.

I've handled wordpress installations before. If you want to add a new theme, you might be required to have FTP access to upload the theme to the themes folder on your wordpress installation. Another option would be downloading the theme from the built in themes searcher. Now, some wordpress themes are flexible and they allow custom changes within the theme setup page, but most other themes aren't that flexible and you have to manually edit the pictures, styles and other stuff it comes with. Also if you're gonna mess with the PHP/HTML/CSS you are going to need to have FTP access to the folders on your wordpress installation. You can actually edit the style pages, html layouts in the wordpress admin area, but those files need to have permissions of 666 before you can make any changes to them. Find out if your ISP allows FTP access to your blog.

Feel free to PM me for further questions and clarifications or just reply here. ^^
