Hilarious, Mickey! Seeing the first images I thought these are not real, but then I recognized a band I have seen live, danced to their music with my ex number 1, The Gayes. It was a Swedish "dansband" (dans (SWE) = dance (ENG), band = band) in 70's, popular in Sweden, Norway and Swedish speaking regions in my bilingual Finland.

The word dansband is in Scandinavian countries used from bands that perform mostly in restaurants and dancing halls. The word is used as a classification; it simply means that the band is not something you go to a concert to watch or buy records but a bit more modest group playing music for you to dance. It also normally means a band that does not make its own music but are instead playing dancing music from other artists and groups. I believe I'm not the only one thinking a dansband is a bit like B-class artists .

BTW, the name of the album "Du vita lilla duva" is in English "You white little dove" .

    Thanks for a good laugh.

i thought you were going to admit that you were actually in the band!

i had no idea the language was swedish - i thought it was more mediterranean...

does the word 'gaye' mean anything - or is it just a name?

Gaye is just a word, without any meaning in Swedish. The four word title really is Swedish. Du = you, vita = white, lilla = little, duva = dove.
