Smoke Ionizer

I'm familiar with the concept of ionizing smoke from the air, but I came across an ad for an item that looks like little more than a modified power supply:

TZ-2 OZONE MACHINE TZ2 GENERATOR SMOKE ODOR REMOVAL NEW | eBay

The cost is far more than I can afford, but I got to wondering what it might cost to modify a regular power supply for this purpose, and how it might be done?

Candle Smoke
I have never bothered with candles before, but now I have some Lord Byron Smoker's candles, which are supposed to remove tobacco smell from a room. I'm not sure how well that they work, because I have only used one of them for a couple of hours. When I later relit it, it emitted a fairly heavy...
