I've surprised myself, I had never thought how serious I take this our Seven Forums. I'm 50 years old, first time in my life active in online forums and acting like a teenager. I have to admit, I'm quite often expecting some kind of response if I have been able to give a valid and working solution.
However, the response must not be rep; I get my satisfaction if the OP says thank you. It is more important to know I could help than get some points of doing that. I'd rather see a thank you reply than no reply and some rep points. I am fully willing to admit this might have egoistic reasons: a nice thank you in a post is seen by more members than my rep situation.
+1. Two of my last 5 rep's given went to members with only a couple of posts and no previous rep points. I have nothing against by giving the full 50 points to these two members, but I would rep new members more often if I didn't have to give the full.
