    Kudos to richc46 above...

I also think that there are a lot of folks who really "write off" the significance of one of these badges. I understand that this is a forum...I understand that it is merely a graphic below a name...but it is no small feat to earn the prestigious Seven GURU badge (or any of the other badges). If the rep wasn't hard to get as it is...or staying around for 90 days...OR having to post quite a few times...the GURU badge would be nothing...well lets see how you feel once you earn the right to wear it.

    Path to Seven GURU
-Zero to Hero...Those of us that have this badge have put a lot of time and effort into getting this recognition. It commands respect...little is normally given: our GURUs are some of the best tech support you can get

-Like any great forum, having members who try to support and better the forum shouldn't go uninvited. Invite only...the "bosses" reward hard work

    Being Creative: GFX TEAM
-Just ask sergiogarica9, theBull, Anthony, Mr GRiM or any other holder of this badge...you have to be fantastic to earn this badge. Graphics editing is beyond many of us (including myself)...it is a gift and that badge symbolizes it

    Creating Applications: DEVELOPER
-Only a handful of folks have this badge and just like GFX TEAM it symbolizes a gift (programming, design, implementation...it is a gift: many just can't do it).

    ...and the Staff Badges
-SF TEAM, MODERATOR, Super MODERATOR, ADMIN...where would we be without "management:? Even though the SF TEAM isn't "really" staff...they assist management in keeping the forum top notch. Stick around SF for a while and you will see that it is one of the best maintained forums on the web.

I hope people can get a better appreciation of the badges after reading this...it means a lot to folks who have them.

Jonathan, everyone here knows that you deserve the Guru classification. You are very knowledgeable, and I saw you make many posts to help a newbie, with no possible reward for yourself. I know that you sent me many messages, for the sole purpose of helping. Believe me, top managment knows that you deserve that Badge. However, I have been in business a long time and I know the only reason that you do not have one is because they do not want to set a precedent.

Take my words to heart, and know that we all feel the same; when you get your badge, in just a few days, wear it with your head held real high.Even if they don't know, we know, it is a true honor.

Two great and moving posts in the space of two pages.

Ability to rep in the this, the Chillout Room, and the News Forum has been disabled due to over repping for non-helpful posts.
And this rule stops us from repping them.

Sure, they weren't helpful, but inspirational all the same. Props to both of you. And some rep

I don't know. I am content to stay at Seven Pro ATM. I can look at my badge and be proud of the fact that I hit Guru points before 90 days. And the truth is, the new members don't even know the difference between Skilled and Seven Guru.
