    Just be helpful :) I've been here 9 days and I'm 2 rep points away from a bright green blip. The more you show people you know how to get things done, the more you'll be rewarded. For example, if you know how to do something, write a tutorial. Or if you know of a useful app, post it in a thread.

    Well you can't be skilled if you don't know anything. As stated before, badges are earned. That's like making you CEO of Microsoft when you know nothing about computers. Plus, you don't have 100 rep. You need to meet all of those conditions before you get a badge. So 40 more rep and it's yours.

    Hang around for awhile, I didn't know anything when I first got here. This is a great place to learn, before you know it somebody see's you learning and helping, and the badge will come. Just be patient it'll come.
