That's not what he is asking, Ted - he wants a slipstreamed system that he can take with particular apps already on the DVD - so they are *preinstalled* - as in take it to a new machine and blow the partition away and install.
I used to do this with XP, because I could actually tell XP which partitions to use for what - so I had a system partition with nothing but the system drive, and a separate partition that actually created Program Files and the entire Documents and Settings structure on that partition - meaning I had a very small system partition *and* all my settings were saved whenever I blew away the system partition and started from scratch.
In the same manner, a slipstreamed DVD also contains drivers for your system, apps that you always want installed, etc - it is your own home made installation brew not for *backup* purposes but for *future installs* purposes.
