    Windows 7 on New Laptop

As my title says, I plan to buy a new laptop in about two months. I want Win 7 on it. Does anyone remember how long Vista stayed on the laptops for sale after Win 7 came out? I might have to speed up my buy if it appears there will be a shortage of Win 7 laptops.

I'm pretty sure it's not going to happen this time.
You also have to remember that vista was a huge marketing flop, so they really did kind of sweep it under the table the second 7 was on the market.
With 7 to 8 though, 7 has been very popular a lot of people like it, and just about everything supports it at this point. I don't see it sliding off as fast as vista did.

I'm sure someone here will probably give you a nice graphic or something to go on.

An article back in July 27, 2012

Furthermore, you’ll still be able to buy Windows 7 PCs for at least two more years. Microsoft’s sales lifecycle for Windows (which is different from its support lifecycle) specifies that retailers will be able to sell the boxed version of Windows 7 until at least October 25. 2013, and OEMs can sell PCs with Windows 7 pre-loaded until October 25, 2014.
