    Lookout Texas

Friends in Texas. Keep an eye on this system. May develop when it moves into the Gulf.

Not wishing anything bad for the Gulf Coast, but we've been in a drought condition for the past few years. A bit of rain would be very welcome. Even my weeds are complaining. :)

Indeed. Hopefully it will not do any damage, and just give us some most needed rain.

I live in the New Orleans area and our drought is broken. It has rained for the last 3 weeks. Mostly afternoon storms but very heavy and looks like it won't let up for a while. Hope you Texans get some rain but not too much wind out of that system.

    Stay safe,

    Wed 4pm Update

His name is Don and is predicted to reach 65mph winds in 48hrs and may get higher before landfall in Texas. Looks like Corpus Christi is in the bulls-eye for now but that can change a lot in the next two days.

Go to National Hurricane Center for updates.

LOL - let's hope it just takes care of the weeds and nothing else.

I know you folks in Texas need some rain and I hope you get rain and not much else. I live in NW FLA and we went through about 4 in one year, Ivan was the worst one. I hope you avoid that and just make your weeds happy. Good luck.

    Thur 4pm update

The latest advisory still shows it going in at Corpus Christi but with a slight move to the South. There is some sheer and dry air in the Gulf which should keep it from becoming a Hurricane and predicted to reach 60mph wind before land fall Friday night.

    Thur 10pm Update

Don has made a move and his projected track has shifted South. The bulls-eye is now South of Baffin Bay but the models are all over the place from just North of Corpus to Brownsville. Don is a tricky guy but still not very strong.
