    SATA = sarter (like barter, with long southern english 'a')

    SQL = SQL (i hate the alternative!)
    SCSI = scuzzy (i love that word)
    JPG = jay peg

    others:

    png = ping
    vista = vista (short 'i' - but i've heard a lot of people say 'veesta' - as in 'hasta la...")
    IDE = I D E (but i have heard ide, as in 'lied')

    Just wanted to know how you pronounce different computer-related abbreviations.
    You guys better pronounce this the right way (ie: my way) or I shall taunt you a second time!

    And if you get the ones in bold wrong, I will taunt you a third time!

    GUI = Goey
    SATA = Sāt-ah
    .gif = Giff (with a hard G sound)
    SQL = See-Quill
    SCSI = Scuzzy
    JPG/JPEG = Jāy-Peg

    And others...

    MPEG/MPG = M-Peg
    DivX = Div-Ex

    PATA = Pāt-ah
    IDE = I-D-E
    UltraATA/ATA = Ul-tra-A-T-A/A-T-A
    RAM = Ram
    ISA = Eye-sah
    Cache = Kāsh
    IOPS = Eye-ops

    Linux = Lĭn-ŭx
    UNIX = You-nix
    GNU = Gah-new

    C# = See-Sharp
    C++ = See-Plus-Plus
    AJAX = A-Jacks
    .NET = Dot-Net

    And if you're a priate, just change every syllable to "Arrr".

    Pretty much everybody I've worked with:

    GUI= Gooey
    SATA= Say Tuh (say WHAT???)
    .gif= giff as in giraffe without the "ra"
    SQL= sequel
    SCSI= scussy

    As always, YMMV
    Although its spelled giraffe you pronounce it jiraffe, so you actually call it a jiff then?

    GUI= G.U.I.
    SATA= Sah Tah
    .gif= gif
    SQL= S.Q.L.
    SCSI= S.C.S.I.

    I lead a pretty boring life

    Ah! Excellent clarification. :)

    I usually refer to the language as S-Q-L too, as in Transact S-Q-L. Most of my work is done with mentioning the server, though, as in 'Sea-quill' (or "Sequal") server.

    Yes, I will second that. Although I have asked people before, "did you perform a sequel query and if so, what was the result. However, if I was giving a person something to use within query analyzer, I would say, S Q L select....
