Windows 7: Interesting Processor IPS data

Windows i7 920

Interesting Processor IPS data

In particular, I noticed this in the data:

Intel Core i7 920 - 82,300 MIPS at 2.66 (Turbo 2.93) GHz
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T - 78,440 MIPS at 3.3 GHz

Both of those processors cost roughly the same... but the i7 920 is listed as being faster in terms of instructions per second despite having two less cores AND significantly lower clock speed.

...and before you mention information reliability, it IS cited on these two CPUs.

Also, assuming this data is accurate, then my O.C.ed i7 would be able to perform
3 440 000 000 Hz * 30.1 IPS / clock cycle = 103 544 000 000 IPS

103,544,000,000 instructions per second.

An Interesting Day
Well I have had fun today. 1. STOP BSOD Watcher.sys. Doing nothing in particular. 2. Decided to do sfc .scannow. Found errors. 3. Repeated the sfc. STOP BSOD Watcher.sys at about the 50% progress. 4. Aha must be IE9 install. I had problems with the early beta. Uninstall IE9, 5. sfc still...
