Are you sure it's a hurricane?
We just lost power so I am on a generator now.

I saw that video earlier, pretty funny.
We had power on for about an hour then it quit again.
The Honda EP2500CX Generator we bought on Thursday has been running for about 5 hours now and the fuel gauge barely moved. Seems very efficient.
My brother who lives a mile down the away had his power shut off this morning.

Here in Maine I have gotten approximately 8-9 inches of rain in the last 10 hours and the winds are picking up to about 40-50 knots (nautical miles) here right now.

It looks like Irene has been downgraded from a category 1 hurricane to a tropical storm in my location and the worst of the storm is headed west of us now and is concentrated into upstate New York , Vermont and new Hampshire and rapidly headed up to Canada. Looks like this baby is losing some of its pazazz but things could change at any minute.

Not too very far from you gregrocker

    Aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

Hello everyone, I was just wondering what it's like in your area after Irene. It went a long the entire East Coast the past two days. There were countless people that lost their power.

I've read on CNN that North Carolina took a hit over 190,000 people lost electricity in the state a lone. Several cities actually evacuated. It must be a terrible thing to leave in such a short notice.

So, how bad was it in your area? Was there any severe damage? It actually came to Pennsylvania and the small town that I live in was on the outer brink of eye. It pored all night and all day. It was very windy too, I can't imagine what 100 MPH wind must feel like.

Just curious to see how many people were affected by it.

Some flooding in our surrounding areas but nothing bad in my area, and I live about 500 feet from the bay.
