    Storm Warnings for British Isles.

I posted this in my Hurricane Tracking thread but wanted to give our friends in the British Isles a heads up.

    Storm Warnings for British Isles.-katia-5pm-fri.png

ALTHOUGH KATIA IS FORECAST TO WEAKEN BELOW HURRICANE FORCE BY 36 HOURS...THE LARGE EXTRATROPICAL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO CONTAIN STORM-FORCE WINDS WHEN IT APPROACHES THE BRITISH ISLES IN 3 DAYS. INTERESTS IN AND AROUND THE BRITISH ISLES AND NORTHERN EUROPE SHOULD MONITOR PRODUCTS ISSUED BY THE UKMET OFFICE AT http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/
    Be safe my friends.

The forecast isn't too bad for Doncaster, with mainly medium-level cloud all day and a chance of a hail shower around about 1ish. Let's hope that the shower (if it does materialise) doesn't put a dampener on the St. Leger.

According to weather warnings tonight it looks like Scotland could get the worst of the high winds as what is left of Hurricane Katia runs out of steam, although the weather in Britain is unpredictable at the best of times, so anywhere could be affected.

Thanks for the warning though Jim. I'll send my wife out for the shopping tomorrow..............just in case.

She'll have to go anyway because I'll be watching England v Argentina on TV in the Rugby Union World Cup in New Zealand.

We've had strong winds and rain for the last couple of days anyway so it will be nothing new, had thunder yesterday afternoon as well.
It will be interesting to see what it does tomorrow especially as it's the Ironman of Wales event around here, so in effect we're locked in for most of the day as the bike ride will go through here as part of it's 112 mile course. They've changed the beach for the swim in Tenby from the South beach to the North beach because of a swell coming in so it's going to be an interesting day all round.

Looks like I will be far enough South and east to miss most of it.

Tributes were paid today to a "selfless and loyal" hospice ambulance driver killed by a falling tree as the remnants of Hurricane Katia brought 80mph winds to Scotland and the north of England.
Volunteer George Brown, 68, from High Etherley, County Durham, was killed yesterday afternoon on the A688 between Staindrop and Bishop Auckland.
He was driving to collect patients on behalf of Butterwick Hospice in Bishop Auckland when the tree fell on to the ambulance.
Passenger Peter Foster, 68, from Crook, County Durham, also a volunteer driver, suffered non life-threatening injuries and was being treated at Darlington Memorial Hospital.

Wasn't too bad where I am. About 30-40mph winds, so still pretty strong. A guy from Sky came round to install Sky Multiroom. Still crazy to go up on the roof to sort it out lol.
