If you want it to be a planet, then it is a planet...regardless of what a bunch of scientists may say. What is the saying...beauty is in your/my eye?

I haven't heard the latest but I remember it still being a planet but reclassified as a dwarf planet. Or was it an ice giant? I don't know. I think they added two more dwarf planets to our Solar System too. You'd think that with the ability of Hubble to "see" objects 50-60 trillion miles away they could have better images of our "local" planets only a few billion miles away.

I don't know about two, but there is at least one new one:

10th Planet Discovered - NASA Science

EDIT: I guess that article is somewhat old, because I found another in which the planet is called Eris. However, it is uncertain if science will continue to consider it a planet, because they now say that it is about the same size as Pluto.

    Its Nibiru!! :)

    But seriously,
I seem to remember a drawing ( I want to say Samarian) where they said we did have 10 planets.

Was a bit interesting. Simply because they had all the known planets and orbits mapped out, except that they had the 10th one in there. And that was 6,000 years ago so ...

Or maybe it was 9 planets and 2 stars (binary star system) they said we lived in..
Blah, Id have to research into it again. I forget the exact details.

At any count, according to them, the 10th planet or star is on a long eliptical orbit

I think you guys are both right. Eris and Nibiru were added. And there's a third--Ceres.

NASA's Dawn spacecraft is due to reach Ceres, a dwarf planet in the asteroid belt, in February 2015, so it could become the first spacecraft to visit a dwarf planet, if Dawn reaches Ceres before New Horizons reaches Pluto.

Ceres is an asteroid discovered in 1801. As far as I know, Nibiru is only the name of a planet in a game called Nibiru Age Of Secrets.

EDIT: I Googled and found that Nibiru is a name given to a theoretical planet that is thought by some to be on a collision course with Earth...AKA Wormwood.

I don't want to brag, but I've survived through the end of days about three times now. 2012, bring it! :)

You may quite possibly survive until the true end of days, but despite how you may feel about it, no one has done so yet.

Ceres was upgraded to a dwarf planet. You're right--No Nibiru.
