A little of both...I use Gmail Notifier Plus and a Rainmeter Gmail reader. Obviously I go online to read it though.

Those of you that use something like Outlook or Thunderbird along with web based, how do you keep them both in sync?

I have and snet.net address but would love to use gmail, but itd be such a pain to start a new email address at this point and I dont think Outlook is compatible with my snet.net address.

I don't know about snet...but gmail supports IMAP which synchs automatically with Outlook on the fly...

Maybe I can just forward all my snet.net email to a gmail account. But then Id be concerned with how long it takes for forwarding and what not.

I would imagine it wouldn't take too long...GMAIL's servers are fast and if snets are fast also you would be good to go. Check out snet and see if they have IMAP built in cause Outlook supports a ton of things
