Little Fockers with Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro.
The plot's as daft as a brush, but it's great entertainment.
Neither did my GF - I had to keep pausing the damn thing to explain to her what was going on.
Watch one of the "Theatrical" releases - it has Ford doing a voice over/narration which helps 'explain' what's going on as the movie progresses.
Admittedly it's not for everyone - but it's still far beyond average. It requires a fair bit of thought and appreciation. It's a 'thinking' movie, not an action movie. But still it was well below average.
As for the hype, part of that is due to the fact that it was far ahead of it's time (visually, thematically etc) and it set the benchmark for future movies in the cyberpunk Film Noir genre.
im about to watch virus :) not seen it in years, loved it when i was younger, hope its still as scary now lol
I have Blade Runner - The final cut /Blu Ray. In my top 10 of all time.
My view:
A movie that was made before its time. Genetic engineering was a bit far fetched back then. The movie is full of highly relevant human moral issues that question what we mean by the "sanctity of life".
Approaching the topic from a radically different direction was the sci fi "District 9". No Spielberg Close Encounters here.
