Immortals - Rotten Tomatoes
Visually awesome....the rest, not anything special.
Saturday Night Fever (1977) - IMDb
Made John Travolta famous. Caused the disco phenomenon. What else is there to say?
Grease (1978) - IMDb
Continuing with the John Travolta theme, this movie was known for rather different reasons.
Less grittier compared to Saturday Night fever and most likely the one of the first Hollywood sanctioned teen musicals featuring singing and dancing dispersed in between the plotlines (current modern equivalent would be High School Musical with Zac Efron, Hudgens et.al).
Not bad watch and contains some rather memorable tunes like, Summer Nights and You're the One That I Want, and of course the main theme 'Grease' sung by Frankie Valli.
It is in this movie that the audience learns that Travolta, at the time perhaps, can't really sing very well; he pales in comparison to his much more vocally talented female counterpart, Olivia Newton-John, who plays the role of his character's love Interest, Sandy.
This is very evident from the songs that feature them both in duets in the various scenes of the movie; Travolta's vocal weaknesses are masked in other group performances scattered in the movie.
Made in an age without the technology of Auto-Tune, these inadequacies are quite audible.
Not a bad watch, contains catchy tunes and lyrics - 7/10. Watch it if you can.
