I tried watching Zorba the Greek the other night and wasn't impressed with it. I love the music and already have the soundtrack.

I watched that last night also. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Effects, Special Effects.
Now you have something like Gravity and its Special Effects.

I watched Gravity last night. Great visuals and effects.
The movie was alright, but it's not like I had to see it again.

It didn't win as best picture.....rightly so.

Didn't particularly care for that re-imaging either.
Yeah the Klingons evolution has not been linear at all. In the original TV series they were just green skinned with bushy eyebrows.

Yep. Almost like bushy Vulcans without the ears. They should have stayed as the Next Gen.

I probably enjoyed this more than the original. Can't wait for the third one.

Even the ST:Enterprise version was a little more refined.

    The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

IMDB: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011) - IMDb
Wikipedia: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

We've had some rough times lately in our relationship. Mutual love and respect are still there, if possible even stronger than ever before, but external circumstances have not been in favor of us and that has made life quite PITA.

We try hard not to let these external obstacles to come in between us. One way to do it is we try to do things together, have "date nights" with phones turned off, no computers, just relaxing together.

Yesterday was one of those nights, my dear Angie's turn to tell what to do. After a nice meal, some wine for her and single malt for me it was a movie night, a movie she wanted me to see: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

I was totally surprised, it was one of the best movies I've seen. A beautiful story set in Jaipur India. It's amazing how Deborah Moggach, the author of the novel These Foolish Things could have managed to create such a lovely story from all kinds of prejudices and biased opinions (age, racial, sexuality, forced marriage and so on) and then screenwriters and director turn it to this wonderful movie.

Superb casting, especially Judi Dench and young Dev Patel (you know, from Slumdog Millioner?) make excellent jobs.

As my dear Angie only speaks German, we watched the movie yesterday dubbed in German. However, I was so intrigued I had to see it again today, now first with original English soundtrack and thereafter also once again with Finnish subtitles. So now I have seen the same movie three times in less than a day and it's getting better and better each time :).

    I wholeheartedly recommend.

    Kari

P.S. Sorry geeks, only one death and that of natural causes. No advanced weaponry, no war, no killing, no fast cars and chicks in sexy clothes, no tech gadgets. Yet a movie worth to see.
