Yeah, that Studebaker was the very first American car I saw here in Germany. It was on my way to school near the train station. Must have been 1949 or 50.

Those cars were beautiful and had character (but a stagecoach chassis). Try to match a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible.

It's all in the eyes of the beholder, Wolfgang! For me, I'll take an old Jaguar XKE or XJ8L any time!

I've seen that before but it was great to see it again. Another detail (missing) that gives it away as not being real - no people!

It is a Delahay. Have a look at the pictures on the bottom of the Wikipedia page: Delahaye - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Did you notice that those cars had the steering wheel on the right side - although in France they were driving on the right side of the road. Strange relic from the early days of the automobile.

When I lived in Paris in the early 60's I failed to buy a convertible for FF800 (less than $200 in todays money). It was in good running order and the body was excellent. The fact that the steering wheel was on the wrong side kept me from getting it. I think that was a big mistake.
