    Cats rule

Two cats to rule them all and in the darkness hunt them.

Niveah - adopted from shelter 2 years ago. Only plays in the dark otherwise calm and collected alpha female.

Ianna - Wandered in from the desert last Christmas at dusk starving and about 5 months old. Went into heat 1 week later (Could have been worse) Absolute terror, Carries her toy mouse around in her mouth and chases it in every room. Stole the dogs bed and now its hers.

I did a project for a girlfriend's lawyer, way back when. He lived in the Colorado mountains and I worked overnight with a screenless window open. Each night, his tom would walk along the deck railing and make the 5 foot jump into the window.

One very cool night, I am hacking away and I hear thumpbangslidethud! I had closed the window.

i grew up in the colorado mountains. as a kid, i remember having a tough mountain cat too. she beat up our neighbor's dog once. the stupid thing had to go get his face stitched, and the neighbor thought my parents should have to pay the vet bill!

she used to go out wandering in the forest all the time. she would even follow us out hiking, up to the top of mountains. she would stay out for a day or two at a time, then come meowing back at the door. helluva cat...

    Good timing.

...she beat up our neighbor's dog once....
During the same time, the neighbor's bassett hound expressed an affinity for digging through the lawyer's garbage (the waste bins, not the case files). No one could get the dog to stop. Being a Marine and understanding animal behavior, I found a solution. One morning, while the dog was eating the garbage, I pissed on his face. The garbage has been safe since.

    I'm a problem solver. It's what I do.

    Have to kill a Cat

I never thought I would ever do this, but I am going to kill a cat.

There is a male cat in my neighborhood that is terrorizing all other cats, ransacking houses, ripping garbage bags, and eating my cats food.

My 4 yrs old tomcat Max, has been beaten up by this dude so many times, and so bad, it has already cost me more than 500 euros in medical bills.

The dude is ripping my garbage bags every week, gets in my house through the cat door and eats all the catfood and everything I leave on my kitchen top.
I can't close the cat door.
I'm not going to lock up my cats, because they are used to go out when they like, and they do their poo and pee outside.

I have tried to locate the owner by putting up posters with a picture of the b*stard on almost every lamppost in my neighborhood, several times.

I've called the police, but they said they have better things to do.
I've called the animal service, but they will only come for dead, injured or endangered animals.
I said that as of now, this cat is endangered, but that didn't help.

Last night I woke up, and heard my Max screaming.
I went outside and chased away the monster and found my max all covered in blood.

I just came back from the vet, where Max's wounds were stitched.
He had a big gaping wound in his throat, and had trouble breathing.
    Cost me another 90 euros.

    So, this does it.

I hate the idea of killing a cat, and especially considering someone might be very sad and upset when the guy doesn't come home again, but I see no other option.

One day he will kill my Max, and I will go to hell rather than let that happen.

Just pondering now how to get a gun (not legal in my country), or how to otherwise get rid of him.
My friend has a crossbow, and I used to be a master at shooting crossbow in my younger years, but it seems a bit harsh.

Sorry my fellow cat lovers, but it has to be.
