I live 20 miles from Wisbech, which is a Georgian market town on the edge of the Fens of East Anglia, and knowing the reputation of some of the local low-life as I do, the lottery winners will be needing to put some protection money aside!

It's not a particularly pleasant place to live and given its isolated location people who live there don't have much in the way of entertainment other than a good punch-up when they come out of the pub.

I agree with The Guy on this one - money can't buy happiness - as other lottery winners have proved.

For the last twenty years, I have bought a lottery ticket. We have two lottery draws a week. I always buy a six draw ticket which lasts me three weeks. I always play the same six numbers. On a few occassions I have forgotten to purchase a new ticket and missed a draw. It is really weird, when I realize my ticket has expired and I am missing a draw, I immediately feel my heart beat faster and I just know that this is the week I win and I don't have a ticket. Would you say that I am addicted to the lottery?

Addicted? No, you just feel the need to buy a ticket for every lottery. Er, wait a minute.................

I have a friend who has never bought a lottery ticket in the UK since the National Lottery started in November 1994, but has religiously put a pound coin in a large bottle instead.

So far, he's "won" over a £1000, which is far more than I have.

To be fair, the chavs all over Britain don't bother with shopping, they just go out on the streets and steal whatever they want.

Using money is not on their radar. :)
