Found VF on a search about Vista questions. Hung around there (never did achieve guru though), and when they brought SF online, I went over and checked it out.
Was not overly interested at that time (hey, I was only like 16), but posted a couple questions.
After I got hooked on Vista, I looked deeper in SF, and started getting to the Beta hype, and stuck.

I was planning my new PC, and knew I would get Windows 7, so I started Googling for sites. Came across 7F, started reading, had the answer to a question, so registered. Jonathan King sent me a friend request, so I have been here ever since (6 months ago today as a matter of fact :)). So, guess Jonathan is to blame...NAH!

I had a couple of problems with my Windows 7 which prompted me to google for a Windows 7 Forum to ask for help, and this forum was first on the list. I then joined the forum and started posting. I found out that the members here were very helpful, knowledgeable, kind and hospitable and the forum has everything you need to know about Windows 7 from general topics to system security, etc. so I decided to be active because I love SF.

This seems like a topic not yet covered. For me it was soon after I was running windows 7 beta for quite a while and stumbled upon this forum while looking for tweaks to improve the upcoming OS. Let the flaming begin if this has already been covered.
I also joined because of the BETA, but that was not my only reason. It was natural for me to join after being a Vistaforums members for some time, I knew the admins z3r010 and Brink quick well...
