Dual Boot Windows 95 and Windows 7

Hi All,
A colleague is on holiday for a week and we'd like his computer to boot into Windows 95 when he switches it on on his return.

Before we spend too much time messing around, does anyone know if this is possible and how it could be done? (Obviously we don't want to mess up his current Windows 7 install)

I'm guessing we won't be able to do it through a VHD or Partition the current drive and format the new partition as FAT32 as it will mess about with the way Windows 7 boots.

Could we add another HD to his computer, create a small partition and format it as FAT32 and tell the BIOS to boot from the new HD that has Windows 95 and therefore his Windows 7 install will remain safe?

Thanks in advance

Vista Ultimate X64/ Windows 7 Dual-boot

Since 7 is already installed your 3rd option would be the only workable solution...

You will need DOS 6.2 however to facilitate the Win98 install.

And to prevent botching things fully the Win7 HDD should be disconnected til you finish.

Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit

thanks for the response.

Could we run the setup command from Windows PE instead of booting into DOS? It now appears we are stuggling to get a Win 95 iso so we might have to go for Win 98 instead...

Win 7 Pro x64, VM Win XP, Win7 Pro Sandbox, Kubuntu 11

Have you given any thought into using a VM? That would be the best way to go unless of course you are putting together a prank. . .

Windows 7 Home Premium 32-Bit - Build 7600 SP1

There is a chance you could mess up the Win 7 install and the old Boss man would not be happy. Have you considered just changing the sign on screen to Windows 95 so that it messes with your friends mind when he signs on.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Yeah I wouldn't bother doing an install on a partition, theres a really high chance Windows 95 won't even know what to do with the hardware. I'd just download virtualbox (free emulation program) and run it full screen. Since its just a prank you'd get the desired effect without the risk of actually installing to the hard drive.
