How do I reuse a previously uploaded picture on Windows 7 Forums

I have previously been able to reuse pictures that I have uploaded and posted.

Today when I tried to reuse a picture, the Attachment manager claimed that the URL was invalid.

Since I could view the picture by clicking on it and I could copy the URL to a new tab and view the picture, there is obviously nothing wrong with the URL.

Does anyone have any idea what is going wrong?

How are you trying to reuse it?

    1. I opened the picture from "Attachments" (in my user account).
    2. I copied the URL from the Address bar (in FF).
    3. I pasted it into the URL field, in the "Manage Attachment" dialogue window and clicked on "Upload".
    4. I received an invalid URL message.

OK, what happened is that way you tried to upload an image already in place. In the Reply or VM/PM editor windows, click the Insert Image icon and paste the URL there.

There is no Insert Image button in the Go Advanced section.

Maybe Firefox 8.0a doesn't like this site.

I use this button. I also have the Insert Image in Go Advanced with editing a post?

Maybe one to ask John or Shawn about.

Same deal with that button for me (no Insert Image button).

Are you using Firefox (7, 8a, 9a or 10a) IE9 or something else?

I'll just have to remember to insert images before going to the Advanced section.

For now, you could also use the paperclip icon to upload and attach with when using the Go Advanced section.

Sorry Brink that is what started this thread.

The Manage Attachments tool won't let me reuse files that I have already used previously.
It gives an "invalid URL" message.

I can upload pictures from my PC with no problems.
It just seemed silly to repeatedly upload the same file, over and over again, when it must already exist and be associated with my user account.

    Thanks Dwarf. :)

If no one else is having this problem it must be something related to my PC or browser.

I'll check what happens in Ubuntu and XP (with Firefox) and W7 using IE9 later today.
