A tech site reports that for 2011, tablet sales will number about 70 million, while PC sales will number about 385 million. The problem here is that tablet sales are increasing, while PC sales are decreasing.

After discussing the superiority of Apple to Windows when operating a tablet, the author predicts that Windows 8 tablets will be superior to Apple tablets. He then predicts that Windows 9 tablets will not only be superior, but will cost less.
so the answer is simple. they just need to keep making your pc outdated very quickly so you buy more.

I don't even bother washing my cloths anymore. they're outdated in a day.

I'm afraid you're right. Knowing that won;t do you any good, but at least you know.

Interesting tech site today complained that Windows 9 will be to Windows 8 what Windows 7 is to Vista. The author claims that when 9 comes out, MS will be apologizing all over the place for 8, will quickly abandon 8, and will point out that 9 is what 8 should have been.

I'm not that "down" on 8, however. But he also complained about 8's bland new logo. One writer posted that MS should have hired a graphics artist who uses a Mac, and I thought that was pretty funny.

A tech site posted some predictions for Windows 9 today. The most interesting one is that there will only be one version: period. Since Windows XP, every operating disk is identical--you pay different prices to unlock different levels. But the idea is that everyone who buys Windows 9 will have everything, and then you can "dumb down" to a less powerful device. Why?

Because apps will work on computers, phones, or anything else you've got without having to wait for a special version. Also, it will be easier for MS to have your devises connect with each other.

My opinion? Smart guess, and I think the author is right.

    Vince,

Can I ask you to provide the source/s for the information you post through this thread? The correct etiquette is to provide a link to the source of the information you are quoting from, so we can form out own opinion too.

ZDNet is a reputable blog site, and it discussed whether Windows 9 will have to be the back-up plan for Windows 8. The author posted a valuable observation: the people who are panning the new Metro Interface on Windows 8 are often technologists who are used to working with new systems.

Me? Assuming that MS lets you choose between the Metro or classical interfaces, who cares? The good news? MS MIGHT be speeding up work on 9 because they fear they'll have another Vista when 8 comes out.

    Sooo
Windows 9 Is to Windows 8 as Windows 7 is to Vista?

But I think window 8 will be fine. multiple screen support and switching between desktop apps and metro apps does need to be improved though, and desktop apps really should be addressable via a legacy start menu and not the metro interface.

I hoe you're right FuturDreamz, because I think the Metro Interface looks great. I am trying to download the beta version onto a virtual machine, and I'll report how (if?) it works. But on the 8 forums, they usually don't like the Metro desktop.
