Folks, I've been following Windows 9, and most of the news about 9 concerns Windows 8. Whatever works poorly on 8 will be improved on 9, and whatever works well on 8 will be continued on 9.

Some people were discussing Windows 9 on another forum, and someone made a good point: Windows 9 will let you turn off those annoying questions that they keep asking about whether you really want to do something. If Aero is cheesy and outdated, those questions were a dud from the beginning.
It appears that Windows 9 will NOT have a Microsoft anti-virus program, but it will have some AV program. MS announced today that the final version of Windows 8 will include whatever AV their partners want to install. If the AV expires, Windows 8 will keep annoying you with reminders that you need to install Windows Defender. And you will have the option of deleting any AV program you want and installing another.
Why? It costs MS money in technical support when irate customers complain about problems that are caused by viruses, and it costs them money to keep Defender up-to-date. MS will be happy to abandon Windows Defender IF everyone has a good AV program.
Read the thread through. Most of what he says comes from his head, is something he has thought and wants to present it as a fact or something he has "read" or "heard". Only once or twice has he been able to produce some kind of source.
The only thinkable motive for this thread is that he prepares for the future: If in a few years time when Windows 9 is published and one of these wild guesses of his is surprisingly right, he is going to quote it all over internet telling "What did I tell you!", completely forgetting the other 99.7% of his "news from reliable source" that went wrong.
Please do not take this thread and these pseudonews seriously.

Well I can do that:
Windows 8 is merely a "transitory OS" which secondary (after tablets) purpose is to encourage developers to port their programs to Metro Runtime, which completely separates the applications from the OS core. Then, in Windows 9 or 10, Microsoft is free to take out the NT Kernal and decades of bloated legacy spaghetti code; And replace it with a brand new microkernel based off of the latest technologies. That would make Windows incredibly stable and secure. You will be able to install extensive upgrades and patches without rebooting, and it would be incredibly hard for malicious or malformed code to affect the system.
