OR, keep "Chrysler" but use that as a "company" name sorta like General Motors, which itself don't make cars but individual brands. But use "AMC", Dodge and Jeep as "Chryslers" core brands. Hope I make sense.

Makes perfect sense to me - but I don't see them continuing much longer without a merger with some auto company somewhere....

To bad Saturn is dead now, the Wilmington factory is being closed unless Roger Penske buys it to bring over the Samsung cars from Korea to reuse the "Saturn" name since he brought the rights of the designs and brand from GM.

The only Sky I'd fawn over is the Turbocharged RedLine edition.

They have already merged with FIAT earlier this year. FIAT is planning to bring the 500C compact and possibly rebrand it as Chrysler or Dodge, but I'd rather see it as a Chrysler since Dodge will screw up the iconic 500C front grille design.

They are also thinking about selling FIATS at Chrysler dealers since Chryslers dealer footprint is huge in America.

The reason why Chrysler is in such a bad shape now is because of Mercedes-Benz, almost all their cars in the last 13 years are entirely MB with Chrysler body on them. Mercedes just sucked them dry and left them to die. Then the Home-Depot CEO came in with Cerebus and they just ruined Chrysler to the core, Cerebus could've provided them money instead of the Government but they were just to greedy and had zero interest in the company at all. Ever since the end of World War II, Chrysler has been in TERRIBLE shape. Ford was in the same situation as GM/Chrysler during WW2 and they reemerged stronger than ever and advanced, while GM/Chrysler were doing really well and just crashed when the war finished. That is a reason why Ford is doing GREAT during this time, because they have already learned their lesson and have experience.

I missed that - last I head heard They were on the chopping block and FIAT and some Chinese company were looking....

I am so out of the loop.

And I hope FIAT realizes that the footprint is not nearly as large as it was 6 months ago with the forced severing of ties with over 700 dealerships back in June....

I remember when I read about the Cerberus taking over when Daimler started moving away from them - it figures that they would pick the name of a three headed dog that was the guardian of the gates of Hell....

Chrysler certainly has had its share of rough times, but I thought it was finally over for them when Iaccoca came in and straightened things out - I had no idea that Daimler would make things this bad.

I have always respected FIAT, let's hope I continue to - although Ford may be doing good and GM may figure out its issues, I have always loved Chryslers and Dodges and Plymouths over all the other American manufacturers, a love that is superseded only by my loyalty to Nissan.

I know about Iaccoca, Bob Lutz also straigtened out Chrysler too (now at GM and straightening them out now ). Almost half the dealers that Obama wanted cut were big dealers that were doing absolutely fine and making a profit, but he forced them to shut anyway. Though, luckily all the dealers in my state have not shut down, besides the huge Saturn dealer just south of the border in Maryland which is now being retrofitted for new Volvo/Hyundai dealer that my dad got hired to work at after almost 8 month unemployment because of lousy dealer management at the large Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Kia dealer just a few blocks down from closed Saturn place.

I've never really been fans of Chrysler cars because of their lousy history after WW2, the only cars that have interested me were Viper/Dodge Journey/1st gen Dodge Stratus/Shelby Dodge Omni GLH Turbo/Dodge Sunbeam R/T Turbo

I've also not been a fan of Nissan except 300ZX, 240SX, Shilloette, NX Series, B13 Sentra, R32 Skyline, R33 Skyline and R34 Skyline.

Challenger, the name says it all. With the Mustang as the King of the Road, and with the media circus surrounding the upcoming Camaro, you couldn't find a more suitable name for Dodge's new muscle car.

I like the Dodge Challenger SRT8 except for the slab-sided doors and weird looking rear-bumper design. I live next to many Dodge dealers and the Challenger has been doing POORLY after so many good reviews .

** But man! that TV program has some CRAPPY video editting people! They tried to mimic Top Gear and couldn't have made the word "Fail" feel at home more than this...

I have only liked Doge's performance vehicles ever since they re-entered the market with the Viper, but Shelby mods always end up looking nice.

As for Nissans - well, I ain't exactly a Vespa fan, if you know what I mean. I only like their sports cars, and tbh, I prefer older 300s and 280s and Skylines from R32 on.

I love the rear bumper - it looks a lot like what I remember the old Challengers to be.

As for the editing - whoever did that should never edit another piece of digital film again for as long as they live.

You can thank Bob Lutz for the Viper as well as Lamborghini for the V10 engine they have. Bob Lutz is also reinvigorating the GM performance car lineups with the Cadillac CTS-V, STS-V, XLR-V, Corvette Z06, Corvette ZR-1, Pontiac Solstice GXP, Solstice GXP Coupe, Saturn Sky RedLine, Pontiac G8, G8 GXP, Pontiac GTO and bringing Australian vehicles over in general (Holden).

If only Alan Mullaly could do the same for Ford, they could bring over the Ford Falcon from Australia and the Ford Ute for some high performance cars and mid-size trucks besides the Mustang and few SVT vehicles here.
