What is your thought about Mac OS X and Mac Hardwrae

    In my views

    Apple Pros

    1. No viruses
    2. Stable
    3. Pretty Cases
    4. No activation or serial numbers to deal with

    Apple Cons
    1. Inconsistent. (Does not really crash or freeze, but I fear there is a ghost in the machine)
    2. Ridiculously over priced.
    3. Limited Hardware Support/Availability.
    4. Lack of retail software availability.
    5. No backwards compatibility. (Old apps/hardware wont work when you upgrade operating system)
    6. No support. (Average support suggestions include "You just gotta find a workaround")
    7. Closed Market (If you want an Apple, you have to buy an Apple.)
(No competition to lower prices, increase support, or advance hardware/software)

What is your thought about Mac OS X
That it's a viable alternative to Windows and Linux.

    and Mac Hardware?
Aside from the peripherals, there's no such thing really. And you pay handsomely for that no such thing.

    1. No viruses
There are viruses, just not many. No one can be bothered to make a virus for an OS that's not all that popular.

So far malicious code that affects Macs are all social engineering. They have to count on the user clicking to download something (not that it won't happen). But unlike Windows, it won't work just visiting a site. More and more malicious code is targeting Mac, the average Mac user is generally more prosperous, so the "market" is there. A Guy
