Thats a good speed for mobile! Can you see the transmitter out of your window? like on the other side of the street?

That's just about what I got with 3 when I had it and I am in a dubious area for coverage.

Nah - sometimes it drops dramatically to about 100Kb/s but for the past few weeks it's been pretty steady, so they may have upgraded the mast.
There are a number of dead spots around here where I can't even log on - many of them inside this room :)

    [edit]
Maybe I should put up something about my system...
The dongle is plugged into the back of an elderly XP system, which has a 100MB ICS ethernet link to a wireless N+/GB router - and a 1GB return link from the router on the LAN side
My laptops are both N+/GB so I can have all sorts of fun
    [/edit]

There was a nice little story in today's newspapers that made me smile.

An elderly gentleman had to spend a few days in hospital and took his laptop to relieve the boredom. To get a good signal for his mobile internet he hooked the dongle on the frame that held his saline drip in place.

He was thereafter fussed over by the nurses while he got busy booking their foreign holidays for them.

    Technology in action!

I had the same treatment when I took my laptop into hospital last year - trouble was, half the nurses were male

The last time I was in hospital, some of the female nurses were so fat and ugly, male nurses would have been a big improvement!
