Some tax is needed to pay for
    schools
    medical care for the needy
support for the unemployed who seriously want work
    ...etc
    BUT NOT waste.

Those who have saved all their lives to support themselves in retirement should get a tax break.

I hate brussel sprouts and broccoli with vengeance!

In fact, I dislike vegetables of any sort, but I've reached the age of 67 so I must be doing something right.
Andrew, a kindred spirit! :) I don't mind fully cooked veggies in a soup or stew, but otherwise I don't eat any either. I drink a glass of V8 Fusion every day to get my daily does, but otherwise, rarely have any. A Guy
There are vegetables that I don't like, but brussel sprouts and broccoli are not among them. I don't eat as many vegetables as I should or would like, but the reason is because I feel that they are becoming too expensive, plus I'm getting a bit lazy about cooking. 99% of my cooking is done in the microwave now, and that isn't the best way to prepare vegetables.
Hum seeker the trick is to cook them slower on a lower power setting (to steam them) - same goes for meat. That way the veggies retain they nutrient value better and the meat doesn't become tough - even meat pies and crumbed frozen fish don't turn into leather you just gotta be patient.

As for the veggies haters hope you are taking plenty of anti oxidants in your diet!

As for tax well one doesn't mind as it would be unreasonable to expect services for nothing but what gets up my nose is the waste of it on art grants and ex pollies pensions. In Oz at the moment they are going to spend AUD$186M on revamping the Sydney cricket ground now I don't mind cricket but that a bit rich by anyones standards!
