Quite so, but there is a reason we've been given two ears and only one mouth, as my wife is very fond of telling me. :)

You know what bugs me? It's not really an annoyance per se, more like wishful thinking on my part... When people

    1. post a solution to a problem which works fine, but is unnecessarily complicated and/or relies on 3rd-party tools when all you need is already built into Windows... Example: using Linux bootdiscs and HDDErase and and and etc. etc. to wipe your harddisk clean when just booting the WinRE environment and using diskpart's clean all will do perfectly fine.
    2. post a widely known solution to a (usually) simple issue, ignoring a better solution and not helping to propagate that better solution to eventually displace the currently accepted one... Example: Someone needs to shut down and restart explorer.exe, and they're told to kill the process using Task Manager and then start a new explorer.exe process. A much more elegant solution is to open the Start menu, rightclick inside the blank area while holding CTRL+SHIFT down and then simply select the newly appearing option "Exit Explorer" from the context menu. This closes Explorer properly instead of just aborting it. Either way works fine but this way is just so much nicer... Disclaimer: I'm definitely OCD and not exaggerating either
