One other thing I noticed today....
At work, all of the pc's run XP. everyone in the office area has updated programs, like, as current as they can get.
Now me, being in shipping, have XP, but don't have full internet access. can only go to select sites( usually trucking companies, UPS, FedEx).

The problem gets to be is that when I get emails, forms, and stuff that needs to be filled out, read, printed, yada yada.....everything is being sent from newer versions of everything. Even the stuff that the trucking companies send me don't like what I have to use to view/edit them with.

Office has newer versions of everything.
    I have excel 97
    word 97
    Outlook 2003
And am stuck with Adobe Reader 6 for gods sake.
Everything I get in pdf format warns me that it may not work or look right, telling me to upgrade.
I get pdf's like every other day, and some of the trucking forms I have to fill out and print are pdf's.

What do I have to do to get something to not work right so they can upgrade my crap? I've tried just about everything, just hoping Outlook or Adobe fumble with something so then maybe they'll finally listen.

Oh, i'm getting a newer pc eventually, they think it may have 7 on it, but they might wipe it and downgrade to XP.....is that not just assanine? Everything we have runs on 7 just fine, but they're hanging onto XP with full grip.
If they can't at least make an effort to make things a bit less of a hassle for me, I might just have to ask for a demotion, so I don't have to deal with their stupidity.

I love my job, can't ya tell?
With you on this one MW - the department I work in doesn't even have the Trend security up to date - how bloody annoying is that?
    Yeah, that's pretty bad.
I took a peek at my new box today( was sitting where I could see the top of it).
The COA is for windows 7 Pro. Hopefully they'll just leave it on there, otherwide i'm going to be really irked.
I hate XP at this point.

Tell them to use XP mode if they think they need XP for anything, it's free with Pro and above.

    Hoppy,
Was busy today cleaning the house, doing 2 loads of wash, load of dishes, bathing wife, took her to lunch and now checking to see what you have been up too!
After looking at New Posts I see you haven't done much of anything.

It annoys me that there is no stop button at YouTube.
If I want the video to stop loading I want a stop button,
not a pause button that doesn't stop the video loading!!!!!!

    Gary,
Most of it was clothes for Hoppy and a saddle blanket for that dumb horse of his.

I need an SSD like Topper needs a laxative.
