Agree with last two posts and that is why I like this forum so much - I have never been patronised, flamed, ridiculed or anything like that unlike some I have been on

Just thought of another dislike though - standing looking at supermarket / library, pharmacy shelves and some ignoramus walks between you and it without excusing themselves - no excuse for no good manners.
thats a co-incidence, today i was complaining to my wife about the ignorance of a couple in a shop, i was standing about a foot and a half from the shelves looking at a set of cutlery and this couple walked up ,stood in front of me and stopped to look at the same cutlery , you would have thought i wasnt there, i tutted loudly so they got the message i didnt appreciate their ignorance. if i was state side i would have pulled a pistol and told them to move

Can't do that here anymore either. Legally.

When you've very strongly hinted that you will be buying someone a decent laptop at a good price for xmas (which is also the only damn gift idea you've come up with for them) and they turn around and 'impulse buy' older tech at a high price.

Patronizing aside, some people should not be buying tech stuff when they have a consistent track record of paying top dollar for low end

In turn, they'll be annoyed when they receive socks instead.

That would definitely clear out the aisle.

It annoys me when OP's want a fix like we're a shop, instead of to learn.

It seems too few have an appreciation that this site has come up with Win7 since beta and before, helped work the bugs out, developed some of the best fixes and workarounds, and host a tutorial library built from these experiences that is the envy of the tech industry.

Some treat us instead like we're the Geek Squat online, not the ones who the Geek Squat accesses when they get stuck.

A friend of mine from church just took her two-year-old computer in to them because her AV program told her she had the Blaster Worm. They said they had never heard of it and sold her a new computer. She took it back to the store and got her money back after I let her know that I could fix the old one for a lot less money. (As in, "free".)

I once took a friend's dying rig by Geek Squat to have them plug it into the PSU they keep at the front counter. At one point a Geek called another one over to look at what he was browsing online and I leaned over the counter to see them both studying intently SevenForums.

They leave their all-in-one diagnostics disks in so many computers that the company has made them self-destruct after a few months.
