Tews, when that happens.. I just politely say NO thanks.. when I know what's wrong.. then and only then will I take any meds.. those might cause my death now.. Of course I get a very strange look from the Doc.I then get up and leave.
I once told one " I would NOT have the prescribed surgery".. looking him straight in his eyes.. with my hand flat on his desktop, looking back at me.. then went on.." If I get in trouble because of my decision I will be calling you to take care of me. " with that I turned and left his office.. I still have ALL my parts.
Surgery isn't the answer to ever thing, all fixed , all work, answer to everything at times.. when time usually can work.. if the patient will do their homework as I had done, I knew more than likely time was on my side..
Even worse is the receptionist who THINKS SHE knows what is wrong with you and moves heaven and earth to refuse you an appointment. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!
what's worse than that is having no doctor at all.
not that i would know what that's like, just ask most of the world's population (probably).

It isnt a sprint but a marathon. After more than a decade with my own seige, it does drain you.
In the final analysis you have to do what is right for you and you alone (except maybe Sam) No matter what that is.
Dont let them try and fool you with their opinion, for it is just that.

I agree Tom, even if they are fallible they should be honest and tell you they have no idea what's wrong. Docs killed my nephew by prescribing meds which caused side effects. Then they gave him some more to alleviate side effects, and repeat ad infinitum, or ad nauseum.
He was 31 and died of a massive coronary.
He was being treated for 3-4 years due to a back injury from a wreck with a police car far exceeding the speed limit but he didn't run his lights or siren.
