I've thought about this before. Some possibilities.
OP only joined and posted because they need help, have no other desire to be here. They get their answer, and are gone. Perhaps don't realize that thanks are the accepted norm. Could be considered rude.
OP posts on multiple forums. Get an answer on another forum, and never come back to see replies here.
OP posts on multiple forums, forgets everywhere they posted, and never comes back.
OP is just rude, got what they wanted and are out of here.
Remember, we are the outgoing, gregarious type who post here regularly, a minority. The vast majority don't post, only lurk and read. Imagine how many google and find their answers here without ever joining. On occasion, people join just to say thanks, and never post again. The opposite of the people we are discussing. Such as this thread:

A Guy
When somebody is using your custom user title, but that person is not allowed
I used the custom user title for the early February with a proper ground .... shared it with somebody else knowing there is the same valid ground .... but it definitely annoying me seeing it becoming public .
You can see it when you google an error text and come to 7F threads at top, meaning it is most helpful.
Also in the astounding view count for tutorials like Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version at 1.5 million, and Startup Programs - Change at over a million views.
Had to laugh, just when I posted the above one of these two post threads woke up again, OP coming to thank (How to set "check mail" times for Outlook 2010).
Vain as I am, I feel good
