Question on connecting a scart cable to a dvd

    Hi,
I have a dvd player which does not have a scart input.
My cable box and tv both do have this connector.
    My question is,
Can I use the scart out of the cable box and connect to the line in on the dvd?
I was supplied with a cable that is rigged this way, but I haven't been able to ascertain if this is possible.

Hi jrj350 and welcome to W7 Forums

I take it that you mean that your DVD player doesn't have a scart output, not a scart input? If the player has either component (RGB) or composite video and stereo/mono audio output, then it can be connected to a scart lead. You can make your own lead up, if you are handy with a soldering iron, or you can buy ready assembled cables for this purpose. You just need to make sure that the plugs are compatible with the sockets on the DVD player.

This is so late to respond, but I ran into some problems that had to be solved, involving travel. Very sorry, and I want to thank you for putting me on the right track to solving my problem. Many thanks. I made up the cable and all's well that end's well. :)
