    Microsoft MVP's

OK, so I've been a contributing member here for over 2 years, I'm an MCP, along with many other industry certs, Im a consultant to small businesses in both So CA & AZ, and I teach CIS at the community college level.

I have recently noticed MVP's here with well under half the # of posts I have, and rep points too... How is this possible?

How the heck do I get noticed by M.S. and nominated for this award???

What more can I do to gain this prestigious award?

Just carry on posting quality posts, both here in these Forums and in any other(s) that you frequent, and the relevant people will take notice as they browse the web.

Brink would be a good person to ask.

It's not about post count, not even about rep aquired here or on other forums. You have to be nominated (Microsoft Most Valuable Professional). I have written an email there twice, nominating someone, and although I am absolutely sure my nominations were meaningless, those people being already noted and nominated by many others, I'm feeling good knowing both of those I have nominated are today MVP's.

It's also not about what you think about yourself deserving that regognition. It is about do the others think you are worth of it.

No offense intended and modesty aside- but you made a thread asking what do you have to do to get the award already and you see others get it and not you, so why not nominate yourself as well. Least if you nominate yourself and are awarded it, you can at least say you earned it yourself.

I have several friends who have been at one time or another MVP's, some gaining the award for many years running, and they say Microsoft have thousands of nominations made but only pick a few from the list and now it is getting harder to be accepted even when current MVP's nominate people, it's not guaranteed that you will get the award, just because a current MVP thinks you deserve it.

They check many forums not just this one, so just because someone has less posts here than you and is one doesn't mean anything, they may have lots more at another forum. It used to be the newsgroups as well but of course Microsoft have done away with their servers now.

Just carry on helping like you are and you may find that you get a surprise in the post one day, good luck.

LOL! I have had a few students tell me they placed my name "in the hat" for helping them through PC issues... but I never heard anything from anyone @ MS!

It sounds like you must be nominated many times before one is considered?

I see that this forum has a lot of MVP's. I'll check that links above, and read more info about MS MVP's. :)
    Thanks.
