More Walmart Woes
I had intended to never buy any automotive products from Walmart, because of a problem I had with them a while back, which I already posted about, but since I couldn't find a satisfactory price on the tires that I needed elsewhere, I relented, but used a different store than last time.
The purchase and installation of the tires went as expected, but when I started loading groceries into the rear, I found one of the center caps from a rim laying there. It had 2 very deep dents in the face, looking as though someone had tried to pierce it with a large screw driver, and half of the plastic retaining fingers on the rear were broken off.
I checked the rims, and oddly enough, they had replaced one cap with a black plastic one, which I assume was an after-market generic, because it didn't even have a Chevy name or logo on it, and it wasn't even one of the two tires replaced. I then checked the spare that I had them mount, and of course it was missing the cap also, because it had to be removed to store the tire, but that means that two caps are effected, since the second one was nowhere to be found.
At first, I decided not to make a stink about it, because I figured that they would be easy to replace, but when I just checked online, the first place I checked wanted $25 apiece for them. $50 expense for a couple of pieces of plastic is not something that I will pay myself, and I seriously doubt they will either, although I did email their corporate office about it just before posting this.
The more that I deal with Walmart, the more that I regret it.
