You want to find a website like this one.

CyberPower PC. - Custom Built Gaming PC and Gaming Laptops

I just glanced over the page but looked like some neat rigs. You pretty musch roll your own. (of course they roll the price)
Neat but pricey. A bit of an overkill for what I am doing with it (no games at all). And a fancy box is useless for me because it is buried under the desk.

    Custom Build

That was just an example. Do a search for "custom built desktop" or some variation. There is probably several.

Actually CyberPowerPC and iBuyPower are on the low end of pricing of the "Boutique" type builders. Have a look at these builders:

    Puget Systems

    Digital Storm

    XION

    Maingear PC

    Velocity Micro

    Xi Computer Corp.

Thanks Bill for the fine list. Will study it. The model I am now looking at right now is appr. $800 with the graphics upgrade and 2 USB3 ports. They give me a little discount. That will be my benchmark.

Those I listed won't let you sneeze for $800 :) It was more for comparison to the site HammerHead posted. Have a look at AVA Direct, their prices are more in line with what it would cost you to buy all the parts at retail. A Guy

The closest I could get for a comparable configuration (AMD 6 core though) was $1150.
