Antivirus companies that make you pay for a new subscription every year. So, what, I bought your program, but that wasn't enough for you? Money grubbing Aholes.

You know what else really grinds my gears? You, America. *** You!

$100 (fake) internet dollars to anyone who gets the reference. :)

    LOL

    & I agree, I hate it too.
Particularity the one for the free version of Avast!, I noticed there is a limit on the days.
It makes me wonder... why has it got a day limit when it is free :|

And I'll throw in a fresh bag of Internet Cookies to anyone who answers the question ... I have to disqualify myself as I already know the answer and I want to keep it fair...

It's just that posting the correct answer would be inappropriate for this (or any) forum.

Along with that thought, hardware firewalls that require a yearly subscription to stay current with bug fixes. It's all the rage now. Buy a decent hardware firewall appliance for > $500 and be prepared to likely spend money to keep it up to date :/ Maybe after 5 or 8 years of life, but not starting just 12 months out. Give us SOME product usability insurance! Geeze...

The entire "software as pay as you go service" has been making an unwelcome comback lately (Used to be all that on big iron back in the day).

In the end we WILL end up paying more...
