That is true, but is this type of change just your speculation, or is it actually being considered?
Not being considered... just one reason I'm not so hot on moving to the metric system whole hog.

Also, it's not really what it's cracked up to be. Metric paper sizes are the biggest debacle imaginable. THREE different standards and all of them completely "odd" dimentions. (I used to write printing software)

You would think that with a unit as small as a mm that they would have started off the "A" paper size with something that would evenly divide down without having to mark things in half and quarter mm edges but no! the A size starts off at an odd mm size so the first "fold" already has a fractional mm size!

And even though the "standard" says that rounding off to the nearest mm is fine the Germans will have none of it!

Anyhow WHat was this thread about again?!?

time for bed I think :)

I was quite surprised when I just looked outside, and saw that the cars and grass was covered with a dusting of snow, despite the fact that it had been 60 degrees earlier in the day. Maybe Indian Summer is over here...hope not.

While the past few weeks have been considerably cooler, the outside temperature in Tulsa at the moment is 68 degrees, and it is still an hour or two until the hottest part of the day, so I feel that it will certainly make 70 degrees, which qualifies as Indian Summer. I know it is not realistic, but it would be nice to think that the rest of the Winter will be as warm.
I don't want to be fastidious but as far as i remember, having lived far more north than most of you guys, it's only called Indian Summer when it has been freezing first and then becomes warm again

That is true, but it has been below freezing several times here. In fact, it was freezing the last couple of nights, but is on the rise again. Monday is forecast to hit 71 degrees again.

It can't seem to decide whether it is Winter or Spring. We hit a high of 72 degrees today, but it is dropping down into the 30s tonight, and highs of 40 -50 degrees the rest of the week. If it is going to be Winter, I wish it would get it over with.

There is also gallon and US gallon.
There is a dual system in America. The US science/engineering community have used metric for a long time.

I remember when Australia went metric they actually banned dual rulers with feet/inches ; centimeters/millimeters. They are now more liberally minded.

Oh yes the weather - very mild so far this summer.

71 degrees at the moment, forecast in the 60s for the next 3 day, then to the 50s. I'm beginning to think that there will be no real Winter this year.
