RESEARCH: Mac features you'd like to see in Windows?

As we all know Apple & Microsoft have been stealing ideas from each other practically forever, of course they do, it's how you make products better. Every company out there does it. My question to you is, what features would you like to see Microsoft put into Windows from OS X?

Here's what I can think of:

1.) Middle mouse click to show widgets/gadgets. Yes I really like the whole WinKey+Spacebar thing to show the desktop and your gadgets, but the middle mouse button is even easier.

2.) Remember the Windows 98 icons? Sure they look like crap to us these days, but one thing they weren't is blingy and chintzy. The new Win7 trash can is a good example, it's just too shiny. Bring back functional, clean icons that are distinct and easy to spot.

3.) Spring loaded folders. Sure the Win7 explorer is a massive improvement, but it would would be nice to be able to have a folder pop open whenever you hold a file over it for a few seconds.

4.) Mounted drive icons on the desktop, Mac OS does it, Linux does it, but we have to either use the stupid autolaunch thing or actually go into My Computer (yes I know it's just "computer" now). The ability to quickly drag them to the trash or some other simple mouse gesture to eject them would also be nice.

5.) Volume OSD. A nice, clean, simple on-screen display for whenever you adjust the volume would be an elegant addition. OS X does it and so do most Linux desktops, but you can't do it in Windows without an addon program.

That's all of the ones I can think of off of the top of my head. Please chime in with more.

    I disagree with that.
As a ex-Linux user I fiddled a bit with Gnome and I *hated* the so-called 'clean & functional' look & icons. It didn't take long for me to switch and become a KDE user, which I was for a good while until I migrated back to Windows. I like shiny :]
I do agree windows users should be able to completely change the looks of their icons completely without the use of third-party apps or modding system files etc. So then you could pick your Gnome-style icons while I stick with the shiny ones thanks

But to answer your question, I would like a dock, with the stacks.
Or the file edit etc toolbar at the top of the screen. That'd be cool :]
