Feel something stuck in my throat for few weeks. ENT specialist keep saying it is only pharyngitis.

It bothers me a lot as back in 90s one of my mate complaining of the same thing for three months, he ended up with laryngeal cancer, and died 3 months later.

Getting more paranoia here. Going to see an oncologist next Monday.
Let's hope you get some good results, good luck.

Thanks Jaidyn. That's what I need.

Most of my patients at hands were mostly admitted once they got the late stage after silent disease progress with unfortunately tiny hope.
I even did a CEA lab test with normal result (2.3).
But I think I won't stop until clinically proven OK by the oncologist.

I'm sure you're worrying yourself for nothing Kevin, but as said it's always best to get a second opinion to put your mind at rest.

Thanks, Joan. I need that. :)
I do realize for being over worry. Most of my workmates did say that.
Hope my next Monday Appointment with the oncologist will come up with better stuff that lessen this what I call as preoccupied thought.

Kevin, try not to worry too much. Cancer treatment is much better these days, but I just wish all this research would find a cure once and for all.

Yesterday, we were hit with the news that my wife's brother has been diagnosed with bladder cancer.

As with all hit by this scourge, we hope for the best, but fear for the worst.

Think positive Kevin things will work out. I can tell you this from experience in 2005 I was diagnosed with colon cancer had surgery then did six weeks of radiation with chemotherapy and continued chemotherapy for six more months (which kicked my butt). Then in 2007 they found three enlarged lymph nodes in my chest and abdomen so I did two years of chemotherapy which ended in late 2009 (which kicked my butt again) since then I've been in for regular blood work and CT scans, so far everything is still good (knock on wood)

    Thanks for the support.
Feel sorry for your wife's brother. Hope he get the best treatment available. I also got one cousin, a police officer with bladder cancer but He was unlucky, passed away after running a series of irradiation therapy.
I got two uncle with lung and liver cancer, another aunty with lung cancer.
I spent months took care of my aunty till her last day. She trusted her care to me as I am the only nurse among the big families.
True that the advance treatment are now reliable enough.
But still hoping for the best nex week.

That is the hell of perseverance. You did an outstanding effort running with all given situation if compared to most patients I ever taken care of. Hope you are able to maintain your optimum health. Did you also have regular CEA blood level check? I got mine is on normal level, but still worrying much.

Yeah. That is what I hoping for.
It sounds funny. I spend much of my time supporting, talking, assisting, and taking care of many patients with various cancer. But found less stronger to them.

It is all just because on my knowledge, most cancers go silent and undetected until they hit other part that means a late stage on its original site.
